Description

The recent completion of a grade 2 listed old pub in the sought-after village of Wickhambrook, was bought as part of a property investment for a property investor.  After initial planning was refused, we acquired planning for a small, detached barn, 2 apartments and 1 four-bedroom house. The renovation of the rear of the pub has made a stunning second home for a young growing family.

Apartment 1 has a basement with the same overall footprint as the flat.  Apartment 2 is a duplex flat with a large lounge and kitchen area, two large bedrooms, and gallery landing.  Both apartments present stunning high ceilings and large rooms, they also still have all the original features from the old pub. This has made the properties very appealing to buyers that want to live in the country but still want that modern apartment.

All the properties had a new roof; however, the detached barn was built from scratch. To plaster the walls internally we used goat’s hair from the lime and plaster internally which was recommended by the conservationist.  They all …?… With underfloor heating.  The barn has a little river running through the garden which looks over open fields.

This was a great development, that we thoroughly enjoyed participating in.
